If you’re planning a trip to Zion National Park, AutoCamp Zion should be at the top of your list for places to stay! And if you’re not planning a trip to Zion, go ahead and start that now…
We absolutely loved our Autocamp Yosemite stay in 2022. So when we saw that AutoCamp Zion had recently opened in 2023, we instantly knew we had to make it our next National Park glamping getaway for our summer anniversary trip.
And the prices are decent! Especially for the value of the experience. This review will tell you everything you need to know; including tips below for how to score a good deal and get cash back when you book. And of course, best things to eat.
This post is a review of our experience glamping at AutoCamp Zion, with tips for what you can expect and how to book your trip.

Where is AutoCamp Zion?
AutoCamp Zion is located in Virgin, Utah; about 15-20 minutes away from the Springdale entrance to Zion National Park.
Personally, we found it to be the perfect distance. It felt remote and we were surrounded by nature so it felt like camping. But also you aren’t too far from Springdale or Virgin for restaurants, groceries, and the National Park.
Glamping Options
Airstream
The Airstreams are the most popular of the AutoCamp glamping options, and this is what we chose for our Zion stay.
Especially after a long day of hiking Angels Landing (a must-do hike if you aren’t afraid of heights), coming back to a luxurious, air-conditioned 31-foot Airstream with a spa shower and comfy bed is just perfection. And the Airstreams are cute!
Each Airstream is stocked with a kitchenette including a mini fridge, sink, dishes, and cooking utensils including a cast iron skillet. Every unit has its own fire pit, outdoor dining table and chairs. We’ll talk more about meals and food options below…
AutoCamp Zion also offers Premium Airstream Suites, which are the same in terms of amenities, but in better locations such as closer to the lodge or pool.
BaseCamp Suites
If you have a larger group up to 6 people, you can book a BaseCamp Suite which includes an Airstream and a glamping canvas tent on the same site. We got to tour the luxury tent, and it looked really dreamy!
I would absolutely bring a group of friends or it would be great for a family with kids.
Classic Cabin
We also got a chance to tour the Classic Cabin suites, which sit on the far west side of the property. These are beautiful and modern, with lots of amenities. Perfect for a small family.
The cabins are larger than the Airstreams, and have a full kitchenette including a stove top. They sleep 3-4 people, and are a more spacious option if you don’t want to cram into a smaller space.
Of course, the cabins are gorgeous and would be an incredible stay! But personally, I prefer Airstreams for a more unique glamping option.

Things to Do
Hang Out at the AutoCamp Zion Lodge
AutoCamp is known for its cozy, rustic, yet modern lodges with plenty of amenities. The lodges are a big part of what turns camping into glamping at AutoCamp.
You can have your bonfire at your camp site and be out in nature, but a cozy lodge with a market, fireplace, pool, coffee and restaurant are just a short walk away.
The design of the AutoCamp Zion lodge is stunning! Beautiful floor to ceiling windows looking out on the campground with red rock views in the distance. They have board games and corn hole. Or you can just sit and admire the view.
I work remotely and the wifi is SOLID at AutoCamp. It was a great spot to enjoy lunch and work a few hours in the lodge.
There is also a large fire pit outside the main lodge if you want to be cozy by a fire, but don’t want to start your own fire.
Use the Complimentary Bikes
AutoCamp provides complimentary mountain bikes that you can use to explore the property or locally around town.
The Pool
Ahhh…. the pool!
We grabbed a drink from the market and took a swim each night during our stay. The pool has an incredible view, and the weather was just perfect for an evening swim in August.
Nearby
There is SOO much to do nearby including hikes in Zion National Park, or bit further in Bryce National Park. We had the best time exploring both parks during our trip.
Check out my full Zion National Park itinerary with tips on what to do and eat in the area.
What to Eat
The Kitchen
The lodge serves complimentary granola and coffee in the mornings from 7-10am.
But they also have a restaurant called The Kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The food was delicious! We shared a double cheeseburger with tots for lunch while we worked in the lodge one afternoon.
The General Store
The General Store is fully stocked with drinks, meal kits, souvenirs and grocery items. It’s not a full grocery store, but plenty of options for a few meals and treats during your stay.
The highlight for us was the DIVINE smores kit! At $18 per kit, you might be tempted to get your own supplies. But it’s worth every penny!
Honestly, I’m a little upset because it ruined all smores from now on. The marshmallows were large squares and heavenly clouds of fluffy goodness. The graham crackers were thick and had a delicious flavor, more like a cookie than a cracker. Everything about it was amazing.
Cooking Meals
Your camp site includes a fire fit, cast iron and other cooking supplies. It doesn’t feel like camping if you don’t cook at least one meal over your open fire!
You can of course bring your own food, or grab items from the General Store including meal kits.
Nearby Restaurants
There are a few restaurants nearby that are closer to AutoCamp, but we did all of our eating out in Springdale near the park which is only 15 minutes away. I highly recommend these options in Springdale:
- Zion Canyon Brew Pub – for some reason the Yelp scores are lower here than they should be… maybe they refurbed and re-branded? Food and vibe are on point!
- Zion Pizza & Noodles – ‘Cholesterol Hiker’ pizza
- Camp Outpost – get the rotisserie chicken and smashed potatoes with arugula
- Deep Creek Coffee
Tips for Booking Your Reservation
I always compare pricing first, but typically like to use Booking.com or Priceline to book hotels because of the cash back with Rakuten. If you haven’t signed up for Rakuten and you like free money, go ahead and do that now! Use this link to get $30 back after you sign up. I promise you’ll wish you had done it sooner. It’s super easy to use and I’ve gotten hundreds of dollars back from this!
Definitely compare rates on these site to the Autocamp Offers tab to see if there are any promotions, and sign up for their emails to be alerted of upcoming deals! I’ve seen some great specials come through that really tempt me to rebook another stay, like buy 3 night get one free or even 40% off some locations!

As someone who loves the outdoors, but also loves A/C, it’s the best of both worlds.

I love the option of Airstream and tent for a large group! Looks like a great base camp for visiting Zion.

This looks like such a fun place to stay. It would be nice to be that close to Zion so that you aren’t driving so far to get to Zion NP each day.
Katie
Thank you for sharing such a detailed review. I am not much for camping but I could glamp in an Airstream.

Oooh this looks brilliant! I just got back from a glamping trip, but it wasn’t quite as impressive as this – I mean, it’s so good that they have so many decent amenities including the pool and fire pits! And I mean, I would LOVE to hike near Zion, so this looks perfect…
