All About Zion Canyon Hot Springs

Zion Canyon Hot Springs is a relatively new addition to the area, and opened in July 2025. But this location is the third opening for WorldSprings company, who also have beautiful locations in Iron Mountain, CO and the Greater Dallas area in Texas. My family visited the Colorado location recently and raved about it, so expectations were already high for my Zion visit!

What Makes It Special?

A soaking session at Zion Canyon Hot Springs is a whole experience. From the moment you step in to the property you feel relaxed and pampered. But it’s not snooty and still approachable for a solo visit, couples, girls trips or families.

It was pretty cool to see different types people enjoying the atmosphere and soaking it in (pun intended). There is a 21+ restricted area including access to a bar, fire pit, two saunas, and lots of sitting areas. This was probably my favorite area of the property for a few reasons. But the all-ages area was pretty expansive too with a larger fire pit, large freshwater pool, barrel sauna and mineral pools. So it’s truly awesome for any ages.

The whole charm and ambience of the facility really matches the Zion vibe. The design mimics the environment with earthy tones, natural stones and water features. This makes it feel like you’re still immersed in the area.

Location

The property is located in La Verkin, Utah, which is just a short 25-minute drive from the South Entrance of Zion National Park in Springdale.

  • From Springdale: Head west on UT-9 toward La Verkin.
  • From St. George: It’s about a 25-minute drive northeast on I-15 and UT-9.

The hot springs are conveniently close enough to the park and nearby cities, but still secluded enough to feel like you’re secluded in the hills. There’s plenty of free parking at the facility.

Thermal Soaking Pools

The core of the Zion Canyon Hot Springs experience is of course, the water. And you have many options. More than 50 to be exact! So let’s dive in.

Mineral Pools

The mineral pools are perfect for a relaxing soak after a long hike, or just a great way to unwind and refresh. There are 32 of the mineral pools throughout the property, including 14 in the family friendly area and 18 in the 21+ area.

The waters are sourced from a natural hot springs located on the Virgin River, which means a variety of health benefits from the 14 minerals found in the water like iron, sulfate, chloride, and calcium. I really liked the concept of being able to enjoy a natural hot spring that is so close to the park and the beautiful scenery, but with all the perks of a brand-new facility with amenities. It’s truly the best of both worlds.

The 32 mineral pools are named after popular Zion and Bryce Canyon spots like Angels Landing, Observation Point, Emerald Pools, Kolob Arch and Navajo Loop. I particularly liked pools 13 and 14, the Navajo Loop and Queen’s Guard pools.

WorldSpring Inspired Pools

But it doesn’t stop there, remember there are more than 50 pools! Zion Canyon Hot Springs also has a variety of world-inspired pools so you can experience a soaking session inspired by well-known hot springs around the world like the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, the Dead Sea, Bali and Italy.

There are 16 world-inspired pools in total, all located in the in the 21+ area. The tiered layout of these pools made it a really fun atmosphere to hang out, and wander around reading more about each pool. Each pool has a different temperature, and signs that highlight the minerals and added benefits so you can pick the vibe or experience you want most.

I spent a good amount of time floating around and star-gazing from the larger “Dead Sea” pool at the top with waterfall features. The Bath, England pool was another favorite for me, but you really can’t go wrong.

Freshwater Pools

The large family pool (a comfortable 90-92 degrees) and 3 cold plunge pools are all freshwater pools. I’m not much of a cold-water gal, so I skipped the cold plunge. But there are great health benefits, and the layout of these pools sprinkled throughout the property make it great for a body circuit experience of hot-cold-sauna.

Saunas

Ahhh… the saunas. A highlight of my experience was relaxing in the barrel saunas between soaks. If the water isn’t enough to sweat out the toxins, the sauna will finish the job.

This is why I definitely recommend adding a robe rental so you can easily move around comfortably between the experiences.

There are three birch-lined barrel saunas, two in the adults-only area and one in the family-friendly area. They were cozy and refreshing and the perfect addition.

What to Eat & Drink

I was impressed by the variety of options at the cafe for food and drinks. I went later in the evening after eating dinner, so I wasn’t hungry enough for a meal. But I treated myself to a fresh fruit plate and a prickly pear mocktail. But there were flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, and nachos all available and looking delicious as I wandered around eyeing other plates.

The Cafe services both the adult and family areas, with cocktails available on the adult side and mocktails on the other. You’ve got everything you need for a one-stop evening out.
